What's the Interview Day Like?
Pre-Interview Dinner
6:30 p.m. – The evening before each interview day, interviewees are strongly urged to attend dinner with the Internal Medicine Housestaff. Dinner will be held at Downtown at the Taft in downtown New Haven, located between the Taft Hotel and Shubert Theater.

The Internal Medicine Traditional Residency Program interview days begin in the Beaumont Room – SHM L-221A. See directions below and you may also refer to the Map of Interview Day buildings and the Interactive Yale School of Medicine Campus Map.
Beaumont Room – SHM L-221A (2nd Floor)
Sterling Hall of Medicine (SHM)
333 Cedar Street
New Haven, CT
Enter the 333 Cedar Street (Sterling Hall of Medicine Building). Doors to building are not open until 7:00 a.m. Turn right at the guard desk and see stairwell on the left just before entrance to the library. Take the stairs to the 2nd floor and turn left. Take first left and go up short flight of stairs. At end of hallway you will enter circular rotunda and on the other side is the rotunda walkway is the Beaumont Room. The registration table will be set-up outside the Beaumont Room on the right.
Parking
We validate parking in the Air-Rights Garage only. Please bring your parking ticket to the registration desk for validation. Go to Yale-New Haven Hospital directions for more information about parking in the Air-Rights Garage and directions.
Agenda
Day starts at 7:00 a.m.– Doors open for Registration and Continental Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Please arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. You will receive an individualized schedule upon registration. If you need to, you may bring your luggage.
Day finishes between 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Departing Session: a very informal session and does not include a formal presentation by faculty. A few key faculty and chief residents will arrive at the Departing Session when they have finished their interviewing to answer questions. Applicants may stay to congregate as long as they choose and may leave this informal gathering at any time.
