What's the Interview Day Like?
Pre-Interview Dinner
6:30 p.m. – The evening before each interview day, interviewees are strongly urged to attend dinner with the Internal Medicine Housestaff. This session provides applicants with relaxed and uninterrupted time with our interns and residents, and will be an important source of peer information regarding our program. Dinner will be held at Hot Tomato's Restaurant, CT. Located between the Taft Hotel and Shubert Theater.

Parking
We validate parking in the Air-Rights Garage only. Please bring your parking ticket to the registration desk for validation. Go to Yale-New Haven Hospital directions for more information about parking in the Air-Rights Garage and directions.
Agenda
7:00 a.m.– Doors open for Registration and Continental Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. We suggest you arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. You will receive an individualized schedule upon registration. If you need to, you may bring your luggage.
8:00 a.m. – Welcome! & Opening by Chairman, Program Director and other key faculty
9:00 a.m. – Tours of Hospital with residents (Categorical Applicants) Review of Preliminary Program (Preliminary Applicants)
9:30 a.m. – Resident Report
10:45 a.m. – Opportunities for Academic Development – Detailed overview of Residency Education
12:00 p.m – Lunch will be located in the Harkness Auditorium every interview day.
1:00 p.m – Chief Residents Q & A
1:30 p.m. – Tours of Hospital (Preliminary Applicants)
1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Interviews are scheduled for approximately 30 minutes periods, with 10 minutes between each. Each applicant will be scheduled for at least 2 interviews. Preliminary Applicants will begin their interviews at 2:10 p.m.
3:20 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Departing Session with key faculty and residents. Doors to this room will open at 3:20 p.m. for those applicants who finish both interviews early. This is a very informal session attended by a few faculty and residents in order for applicants to finalize their interview day. Interviewees may leave this informal gathering at any time. Snacks and beverages will be served.
