Pre-Interview Day Activities
The Combined Medicine-Pediatrics offers applicants the opportunity not only to interview but to observe and participate in several activities the day prior to interviews. Pre-Interview Day activities vary depending upon availability. Below are some of the more common activities on a pre-interview day involving you in both Medicine and Pediatric Department activities. Participation in the Pre-Interview Day is optional.
- Meet in Atrium of Yale-New Haven Hospital
- Pediatric Morning Report
- Sit in and participate with Pediatrics Residents, Chiefs and Faculty located on the Pediatric Floor of Yale New Haven Hospital
- Medicine Grand Rounds
- Each Thursday, Medicine Grand Rounds takes place in the Fitkin Amphitheater
- Lunch
- An hour lunch with Med-Peds Residents and Interns gives you the opportunity to get to know the residents and ask questions.
- 1:15 p.m. - Shuttle to Waterbury, Connecticut
- Tour St. Mary's Hospital, Combined Medicine-Pediatrics Clinic
- Pre-Interview Dinner
- There will be a dinner at 6:30 p.m. the evening before the interview day. Location is TBA. Please check back for details.
- Spend a fun evening getting to know faculty and residents!

Agenda
8:30 a.m. – Doors open for Registration and Continental Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. We suggest you arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. You will receive an individualized schedule upon registration. If you need to, you may bring your luggage.
9:00 a.m. – Welcome! & Opening by Chairman, Program Director and other key faculty
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Interviews or tour
- Each applicant receives two (2) interviews that are approximately 1 hour.
